What does each data point represent in the new kegg app chart?Updated 22 days ago
Fertility Level (Low / Medium / High)
Shown right after your reading—this prediction tells you how likely it is that sex today could lead to pregnancy based on your Fertility and Cervical Mucus Score.
Fertility & Cervical Mucus Score
This is a score 0-100 which reflects the likelihood each day is fertile and is based on what kegg has learned from your past cycles, including the information entered during account set-up, your past cycle impedance trends, and your period logs. The higher the score, the more likely that cycle day is fertile. The bars on your cycle chart show your Fertility & Cervical Mucus Scores. To calculate your Fertility & Cervical Mucus Scores, the algorithm looks back at your past cycle data to estimate when you tend to be the most fertile. The more consistent you are with your readings and period logs, the more personalized this score becomes. With each cycle, kegg learns your patterns better and can fine-tune its predictions.
Fertile Windows
You will have two fertile windows and these will highlight all potentially fertile days.
Light green rectangle = Fertile Window.
Dark green Shaded Window = Peak Fertility
Note: These are predicted in advance based on what kegg knows about you, allowing you to plan in advance.
Impedance Trend (Black)
The impedance trend shows the real-time changes in your cervical mucus and takes the shape of a valley during your fertile window. Every time you take a reading, kegg sends a small signal through your cervical mucus to measure how easily it moves through. When the signal moves easily through your cervical mucus, there's lower impedance, a sign that your mucus is thinner and more fertile. When the signal has a harder time moving through, the mucus, there is typically higher impedance. Higher impedance is associated with less fertile cervical mucus. As you move through your cycle, your cervical mucus changes, and the impedance line reflects these shifts, rising and falling in response.
As your fertile days begin, the impedance trend line usually starts to go down. This is typically the start of what's called the 'fertile valley', a dip that shows your mucus is likely very fertile. To spot your fertile valley, focus on dips that happen in or near your predicted fertile window, outlined in green on your chart. Your most fertile days usually happen as your impedance trend is dropping into the fertile valley, but the entire valley should be treated as fertile.
Ovulation usually happens on the lowest point of your fertile valley. But remember, your most fertile days are actually the days leading up to ovulation, not ovulation day itself.
Can be toggled on/off on the Cycle screen.
Downward movement in or near your fertile window prediction suggests your cervical mucus is becoming more fertile.
Note: The impedance trend is not your basal body temperature. If you track your BBT, you can input your temps into your notes, or sync the kegg app with your Tempdrop device.
Ovulation Probability
The ovulation probability shows the likelihood of ovulation occurring on a given day of your cycle. Your predicted ovulation probability is displayed in advance as blue bars on your cycle view to give you advanced notice of your most likely ovulation days. Ovulation probability is based on your past data, such as your impedance trends, period logs, and biological factors entered during account set-up. Since it's based on probabilities, the total of the bars across all days adds up to 100%. Because ovulation can vary slightly from cycle to cycle, you’ll see several bars instead of just one, as the bars are predictive in nature. The ovulation probability helps you see when your impedance trend dip is most likely to form the fertile valley.
Can be toggled on and off to display likely ovulation days on cycle view.
Appears as blue bars as your fertile window progresses
Note: Your peak fertile days occur before ovulation!
