What is the impedance trend?Updated 21 days ago

The impedance trend shows the real-time changes in your cervical mucus and takes the shape of a valley during your fertile window. Every time you take a reading, kegg sends a small signal through your cervical mucus to measure how easily it moves through. When the signal moves easily through your cervical mucus, there's lower impedance, a sign that your mucus is thinner and more fertile. When the signal has a harder time moving through, the mucus, there is typically higher impedance. Higher impedance is associated with less fertile cervical mucus. As you move through your cycle, your cervical mucus changes, and the impedance line reflects these shifts, rising and falling in response.

As your fertile days begin, the impedance trend line usually starts to go down. This is typically the start of what's called the 'fertile valley', a dip that shows your mucus is likely very fertile. To spot your fertile valley, focus on dips that happen in or near your predicted fertile window, outlined in green on your chart. Your most fertile days usually happen as your impedance trend is dropping into the fertile valley, but the entire valley should be treated as fertile.

Ovulation usually happens on the lowest point of your fertile valley. But remember, your most fertile days are actually the days leading up to ovulation, not ovulation day itself.

  • Downward movement in or near your fertile window prediction suggests your cervical mucus is becoming more fertile.
