Using kegg after a miscarriage or pregnancy lossUpdated a month ago

We are deeply sorry for your loss and are here to support you during this time. Whenever you feel ready to try again, kegg can help you track your fertile window and time your efforts with confidence.

When can I start using kegg again?

You can resume using kegg as soon as your healthcare provider has cleared you for vaginal insertion and any bleeding has stopped. There is no required waiting period beyond your doctor's guidance — whenever you are ready and cleared, kegg is ready too.

How to set kegg up after a loss

The start of miscarriage bleeding — or the date of your D&C — counts as the first day of a new cycle. It's important to log this correctly in the app so kegg can accurately track where you are in your cycle:

  1. Open the kegg app and go to the Calendar.
  2. Enter the date your miscarriage bleeding began (or your D&C date) as the start of a new period.
  3. Resume daily readings once bleeding has fully stopped and your doctor has cleared you.

What to expect from your cycles

Cycles following a pregnancy loss can be unpredictable. Your hormones may take some time to regulate, and your fertile window could arrive later than usual in those first cycles back. This is completely normal. Use your kegg readings to watch for your fertile valley — that dip in your impedance trend is your signal that your fertile days are approaching, regardless of where it falls in the cycle.

As your cycles normalize, kegg's predictions will become more personalized and accurate. Give it at least one full cycle to re-establish your baseline.

Do I need to do anything differently day-to-day?

No — use kegg exactly as you did before. Take one reading per day on every non-bleeding cycle day, at a consistent time within a 2-hour window. The more consistently you use it, the faster kegg will re-learn your personal patterns after your loss. As a reminder, entering the start of this new cycle is critical.
